Position 1

Photographs of a model with his weight taken on his arms. This is in the lower resting position which pulls the chest open and makes breathing difficult

In this position the victim is taking his weight on his arms which are fixed at the wrist. This holds his chest open making it very hard to breath in. His legs are constricted and folded causing severe cramping and pain in the leg muscles.

It was not normal practise to take the arms taken out straight the victim because then the victim cannot breath at all and soon suffocates thus negating the intention of the crucifixion which was to cause the maximum suffering.
