Conclusions

It is widely recorded that the Paris Inquisition regularly nailed suspects to posts or other convenient objects as a form of torture. This is what we believe happened to the man on the shroud. Any section of convenient wooden panelling or even a large wooden door would do. But we had found from our experiments that the blood flows seen on the shroud image could net be reproduced using a symmetrical position of crucifixion. The victim would have had to have been hung like this for the observed flows of blood to be physically possible.
